Maxtech International uses Cranium Content Publisher (CCP)
for authoring, editing and creating Infrared Imaging News, a
site dedicated to providing the most up-to-date "insider's
view" on the business and technology of Infrared Imaging.
Entitlement Management Server (EMS) is used for e-commerce,
subscription management and online intellectual property protection.
CCP publishes the newsletter and static pages of the website such as contact us and about us
EMS processes the e-commerce transactions and manages the credit card gateway with Authorize.net
EMS manages subscriber profiles and and assures that only valid subscribers access premium content.
New Revenue Models
Over nine years of archived newsletters were converted from PDF to the new web site. Maxtech is now able to obtain additional revenue from unused content. Premium subscriptions allow access to search and view the archives. Additionally, non-subscribers can purchase access to a single issue. The single issue purchase is at a much lower price point and thus captures sales where there is resistance to purchasing a full subscription.
Maxtech International is also able to generate additional revenue through the sales of print rights. Print rights allow subscribers to print the contents of an article or all of the articles within a single issue. Print rights are sold as an up-sell during the check out process.
The Cranium shopping cart is completely integrated with EMS and CCP. Articles are automatically tagged with an issue identifier during the content creation process. This identifier is then used to allow the purchaser of a single issue to access all of the articles within the issue.
Microsoft Word is used as the authoring tool during the editorial process. These Word source documents are used to automatically create the Issue Table of Contents with hyperlinks to all articles, all articles and a printer friendly version of the issue.
